In this fully renovated apartment of 1936, you can feel and breath Athens past in a modern set up.

It is spacious and airy. It has a beautiful balcony overlooking St. Nicholas church in front and a very cosy backyard for relaxation.

The neighborhood is quiet and safe, perfect for those who want to get the local feeling. Yet, it is close to Acropolis and in walking distance to all one needs to see and do.

The Flat

A little piece of history

The apartment is located on the first floor of a two-story building, dated back in 1936.

In the entrance hall of the building, on the ground floor, and in this first-floor apartment, one can find all the initial elements of the Art Deco architectural movement of that period: cement tile floors (we have named our apartments after these tiles!), high ceilings, the original windows and shutters.

The apartment on the second floor was an addition of 1957, with remarkably interesting mosaic floors, marble sinks and a private terrace overlooking the city. You can see pictures and availabilities under my profile on Airbnb (Tales in Tiles 2).

My husband, Sotiris, and I have put a lot of effort and love into renovating the whole building, respecting its initial elements, while making it comfortably livable under contemporary standards. We couldn’t have done it without the help of our architect, Nafsika Tzanou nor our special floors worker, Tassos, who took out and put back again the cement tiles one by one(!) and polished all the floors on his knees.

The specific apartment is 100 sq.m. big., perfect for those wanting to stay for short or longer periods. It has a big entrance hall, serving also for dinning or working space. It has a separate living room, for relaxation, with smart TV and Netflix and a nice view to St. Nicholas church in front.

Enjoy your Stay

The bedrooms

It has three bedrooms. The first one is a master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a wardrobe area. It leads to the beautiful backyard. The second bedroom has a futon bed with a high-quality mattress, perfect for the sleep of two people. The third bedroom has two single beds (one of them can be hidden under the other, if you don’t need it) and its balcony door leads to the beautiful backyard.
The apartment has two bathrooms. One in the master bedroom and one in the main corridor of the apartment.

Everything you need

Kitchen & Balcony

The kitchen is fully equipped for those who want to cook and have their meals in the apartment.

The small balcony in front of the living room is a nice area for relaxation overlooking the church. In the beautiful backyard, you can relax, enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner.

To enter the apartment, one must enter the main door of the building and walk up the wooden staircase to the first floor, where you can see the wooden apartment door. There is no one else staying in the building, other than the guests in the apartment of the 2nd floor.
