Walk down to the main street, Gennaiou Kolokotroni, turn left and you will find the super-market on your left-hand side after a few meters walk. (Open from Monday till Saturday from 8:00 -21:00 and from 8:00 till 20:00 on Saturdays).
There is a super-market that is open on Sundays (from 10:00 to 18:00). Walk down to the main street, Gennaiou Kolokotroni, turn left and turn left again on the third street on your left, Georgiou Androutsou. You will see it at the end of the street.
Perhaps the best bakery in town! Walk down to the main street, Gennaiou Kolokotroni, turn left and then left again on the first street, Matrozou, and you will see it, towards the end of the street, on your left-hand side.
Open every Friday morning till 15:00. Walking down to the main street, turn left on the main street and left again on Matrozou and you will see it just there.
Walk down to the main street, Gennaiou Kolokotroni, turn left on Matrozou street. At the end of Matrozou street, you cross the street and you will see the ATM on your right-hand side on Koukaki square.
On Veikou 72 street. Walk down to the main street, Gennaiou Kolokotroni, turn left on Matrozou street. At the end of Matrozou street, you will find Veikou street. Turn left on Veikou and, in a few meters, you will find Vodafone on your left-hand side.
Walk down to the main street, Gennaiou Kolokotroni, turn left, and at the end of the street, right opposite the playground there is a pharmacy that is open from 8:00 till 21:00 on weekdays and from 8:00 till 20:00 on Saturdays. Nearby restaurants, cafes and bars
Walk down to the main street, Gennaiou Kolokotroni, turn left and, after a few meters, you will find Lelos (Λέλος) café, restaurant and bar on the right-hand side of the street. Lelos opens at 10:00 am till late at night. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and drinks. During the month of August, Lelos opens at 17:30 in the evening till late at night.
Walk down to the main street, Gennaiou Kolokotroni, turn right and walk up the street. You will see this famous traditional Greek tavern on your right-hand side (look out for a white wall). It is open from 18:00 to 1:00 on weekdays, from 13:00 to 1:00 on Saturdays and from 13:00 to 18:00 on Sundays. On Mondays it is closed. Kouvelos will be closed from the 10th till the 20th of August.
Perhaps my favorite place of all in the area. Walk down to the main street, Gennaiou Kolokotroni, turn right and when you see Filopappou square on your left-hand side – right in front of Krikos - go through it and walk down Pramanton street. On no. 10, you will find this really nice restaurant. It is open from 10 am till late in the evening. It serves branch till 2:30 pm and then plates from the main menu, which is Greek cuisine with a bit of a twist. During August and till the 7th of September, Parkbench will open at 18:00 till late at night.
Almost opposite to Kouvelos, on Filopappou square, you can find Krikos, an “alternative” place for lunch and dinner or coffee and drinks. Open from 10:00 till late at night. It is known for the good quality of products they use for the delicious dishes they serve. You may go to the second area on your right, for non-smoking tables. During the month of August Krikos will open daily at 16:00 till late at night. The restaurant will be closed on the 15th and 16th of August.
Walk down to the main street from the apartment, then turn left and left again on Matrozou street. At the end of Matrozou (7’ walk from the house), you will find Koukaki Square with many options for lunch, dinner, coffee and drinks. Avgerinos is my favorite souvlaki/gyros place there.
It’s worth the visit. A bit further away on Petralona area, on 48 Troon street, you can find Aster tavern, a traditional Greek tavern with delicious food. Aster is open daily from 13:00 till 1:00.
On Robertou Gali 25 street, is a nice Greek tavern. It is a bit touristic I would say, however, it has beautiful view to Acropolis and good food. It is open for lunch and dinner. Strofi is closed on Mondays. Strofi restaurant will be closed from the 11th till the 16th of August.
A bit of a more posh option in the area. On Veikou 1 street, with nice views as well, it is open for lunch and dinner.
